meet Robby Abel
Known as The Straight Shooter for his direct and honest approach, Robby Abel is a songwriter, singer and recording artist from Lockhart Texas. His first album release came in the form of 2004's Turning Point by Robby Abel and The Gringo Allstars featuring favorites “Going to Mexico” “Five Shots” and “Got it Good”. After an extended break from stage and studio Robby emerged back onto the scene in January 2025 with his self titled Robby Abel EP. The underdog anthem “Built to Last" was the first single released to streaming platforms off of the collection, followed up by the popular ”Make it Right" which hit radio airwaves Summer ‘25. In mid May 2025 Robby released South Houston Session, a long forgotten rusty and dusty vault of original songs recorded on a swampy September day in a home studio south of Houston Texas with a few lifelong friends. From that session five songs were released including “Easy to Love” “Traveling Song” and “Empty Promises”.
Robby has performed live in venues across Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma and on the same bill as acts such as Grand Funk Railroad, The Derailers, Reckless Kelly, The Great Divide, Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers, Ty Myers and Braxton Keith. Venues including Adair's, Gilley's, The Blue Light, River Road Icehouse, White Water Amphitheater and festivals not limited to Chisolm Trail Round Up, Luling Watermelon Festival, Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo. His new live performance band, Robby Abel and The Willing, will begin regionally touring to support the release of single "Make it Right" in September 2025.
